How does overtime work?

On film productions, overtime is generally paid at time and a half after eight hours of work. Most productions will build a couple hours of overtime into your day rate. If you are being paid $88 for 10 hours of work, this means two hours in the 10 hour guarantee are overtime hours. Anything after the 10 hour guarantee will also be paid at time and a half.
